One night last week, I had a dream that I found a dime on the side of the road. A voice in the dream told me that I would find a dime the next day ~ that it would be a sign.
As I rose, for the day, I anticipated finding the dime. It had to be a sign that fortunes were surely coming to me. I was truly excited.
My work day presented the many challenges that work days will bring. Soon the “dime” drifted to the back of my consciousness as I concentrated on other things.
By mid-afternoon, the thought of the “dime” returned. I started wondering why it had not revealed itself……I started searching ~ looking downward at the ground instead of upward.
In the early evening, I was driving to the fitness center for my workout. I decided to stop by Target to pick up some supplies. As I am walking through the parking lot I am staring at the ground in search of the elusive “dime.” As I leave Target, I decide to walk to Publix ~ yet another opportunity to find the “dime” promised to me. Quite frankly, I was beginning to believe that it did not exist.
The search continued as I walked towards my car after leaving Publix. Then a thought (maybe a small voice) occurred to me: “Give it up! If you were promised a dime ~ then you shall receive it. Just have faith. Promises from the Divine are always fulfilled.” Instantly ~ I gave it up. I started looking up, again.
After the fitness center, my best friend Paul and I went to Subway for our usual Friday evening drink and cookie. We spent several hours discussing life and our week; and plans for the next week.
Feeling refreshed ~ even at 1 a.m. we left Subway and started towards our cars. By this time I had forgotten about my scavenger hunt. Half way to our cars, I spotted something shiny on the ground. As I bent down to pick-up the dime ~ it all came back to me. Sometimes ~ we have to ask the Divine for what we want/need ~ and then let it go. He will always deliver.
